NEW FOR OCTOBER 2027 - Pastel art holiday in Spain!
—
Casa de los Cuadros
Bookings now being taken!
Brand new for Autumn 2027, a fantastic art holiday awaits for artists wanting to really gain a thorough in-depth experience with the versatile and expressive medium of soft pastels, in an unspoilt region of southern Spain!
Artists will immerse themselves in a relaxing and rewarding six night, five day art holiday and stay in a beautiful traditional but modern Spanish home of Casa de los Cuadros (the 'House of Pictures') deep in the mountains of Andalusia in the Sierra de Grazalema, region just south of the famous Spanish town of Ronda. When the house rooms are full, traditional village hotel accommodation will also be used and discussed with the painter prior to booking.
The art holiday is restricted to a maximum of 10 participating artists only, to ensure plenty of one to one tuition and personal mentoring during your rewarding art holiday with me, in relaxed and friendly sessions with like minded artists. Non painting partners are warmly welcome too.
Location, location location!
Situated in an unspoiled and authentic white village, Villaluenga Del Rosario, Casa de los Cuadros (House of Pictures) is a beautiful, spacious, typical Andalucian house, where you can enjoy the fabulous surroundings of Sierra de Grazalema, from your doorstep.
Inspiring views are everywhere, to include white washed Spanish mountain villages nestling in the hills and valleys, surrounded by olive groves and dramatic mountain scenery.
This fully inclusive art holiday has a wonderful studio space (portable easels, drawing boards and fixative provided) but for the most part we will be spending as much time as we can on location, experiencing the inspirational countryside (weather permitting) with white Spanish villages, wooded valleys, distant mountain views…and so much more!
Whether you are a more experienced artist looking for new directions with your art and wanting to experience the joys of en plein air pastel techniques or, if you are a beginner wanting to explore many different pastel techniques, this art holiday is for you.
Your tuition
Every artist will gain so much on this art holiday with both personal, regular one to one guidance in the field, with group demonstrations too. No artist will be out of their depth or left behind. The tuition isn’t pressured. We go at a steady and enjoyable pace so you gain the most from each and every rewarding day and inspiring location.
Your Spanish pastel art holiday in more detail
The cooler Autumn season has been chosen for its ease of working outdoors and unique colour palette, in this gorgeous and dramatic region of Southern Spain.
We will be taking short easy walking distances into the landscape (weather permitting), surrounding Casa de los Cuadros each day and close to the local village also. The views have been chosen for their exciting and awe inspiring choices to create our expressive paintings from.
However, this relaxing, easy going art holiday is not all about pastels! We will get together over a continental breakfast in the mornings before we set off each day and in the evening, over sumptuous home cooked meals, relax as a group too.
Immersing yourself in Southern Spain!
During your art week we take a full day break from proceedings, so you can spend another enjoyable day to get to see more of the area or to relax at Casa de Los Cuadros doing your own thing. Many guests choose to travel to the historic and cultural town of Ronda, which isn’t that far away.
The bus stop to get the bus to Ronda is just a short three or four minute walk away from Casa de Los Cuadros. Alternatively taxi's can be arranged between students who want to go to Ronda that way instead.
Alternatively, you may wish to go walking and explore the area much more on your own time. Dawn or Steve can explain a couple of lovely walking routes if you prefer.
This is a six night art holiday will include four full day painting days of expert tuition, an evening of tuition on your day off (demonstration), and a free day to do your own thing either exploring, or just relaxing by the pool. Nearby are the charming white villages of Ronda, Grazalema, offering prime opportunities to immerse yourself in historic rural and cultural Spain even more very easily.
Highlights of your Spainish art holiday
At the end of your art holiday, not only will you be taking home your own expressive and colourful pastel paintings of the fabulous Spanish landscape in this unique part of the world, but wonderful lasting impressions of your fabulous time in Andalucia also.
A totally relaxing art break with like minded artists sharing great and lasting creative experiences and making new friends...and so much more.
A pastel art holiday not to be missed!
