Complete with an on-site well equipped and modern studio, Higham Hall offers a perfect base for your enjoyable painting holidays, which explore both studio based painting workshops and fun en-plein air painting experiences.
A superb painting holiday awaits for artists wishing to explore exciting watercolour, pastel, acrylic ink and other mixed media (of your choice - but not oils) with a main focus on 'garden impressions'. In recent years the gardens at Higham Hall have undergone extensive renovation, design and replanting by the skillful grounds staff and the posibilities for colourful and dynamic painting subjects are around every corner! We will also be taking at least two excursions (weather permitting) to the wonderful 'Mirehouse' near Keswick, (having been given exclusive rights to paint there), which a beautiful family run historic house with gardens close to Higham Hall to paint and draw these beautiful mature gardens amids dramatic and stunning Lakeland scenery. (Admission fees included).
