There is no doubt that the East Coast of Yorkshire still maintains that 'old worldly charm and nostalgic feel' and Cober Hill provides the perfect opportunity and venue to immerse yourself in that 'get away from it all' relaxing art holiday.

Not only will we explore different locations along the Herritage East Coast at Runswick Bay and historical Robin Hoods Bay.  In the 18th century, Robin Hood’s Bay was reportedly the busiest smuggling community on the Yorkshire coast. We will just busy ourselves with painting great paintings on our visit!

Your outdoor painting activities are combined with studio painting workshops using combinations of watercolour, gouache, soft pastel and acrylic inks to create richly layered and expressive paintings in new and exciting ways. With plenty of regular demonstrations, one to one, group tuition and personal guidance your sure to develop as artists.

The art holiday is aimed at students with some previous experience (not beginners) or for artists who want to loosen up, become more contemporary in their approach and...have a great time doing so!

Watercolour, Gouache, Pastel and acrylic inks highly recommended
Big brushes and poured paint put into action!
A relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a great learning experience with Robert
Suitable for artists with some previous experience
Luxury full board art holiday staying in top class accommodation
Some studio evening demonstrations between sociable and friendly evening get togethers
Modern studio for indoor painting experiences
Mini-bus to and from inspirational loctions along the Herritage Coast and in the North York Moors National Park

Throughout your art holiday I will show you how to create what you see with feeling and expression within all your paintings.

I have had some time to think over the course you ran, and I'm still of the opinion that it was pretty much excellent - enthusiastic, individually tailored, aspirational. I'd like to thank you for the considerable effort you clearly put into it, and for the inspiration that I got out of it.- DR - Sunderland

I thoroughly enjoyed your workshop and I was pleased with my first attempt at a pastel landscape with a lot of help and guidance from you! It was a revelation to me to learn this new freer technique and I am keen to do further workshops and residential art breaks with you. Thanks so much Robert- RC – Pickering

I've just looked at the photos and am so impressed by all our work.- VS – North Yorkshire

Your presentation was inspirational, informative as well as humorous. As a result, I believe that some Club members and some of the visitors (of whom there were quite a few) will again take up their pastels based on your demo. Thanks Robert!- MR – Leeds, West Yorkshire

Thank you for your interesting and informative demonstration this morning. I have never really tried pastels so I found your talk and style of working most interesting.
