Two exciting workshops have been planned and in each you wont just betaking home ONE great painting to impress your friends, but several!
Here is your first.
EXPRESSIVE PAINTING WORKSHOP WITH WATER SOLUBLE MEDIA
SATURDAY 19 OCTOBER 2024
Hovingham Village Hall, North Yorkshire
10.00am - 4.00pm
About the workshop
This workshop will teach you how to use different water soluble media and combine them together for maximum effect to create many different paintings on a small to medium scale. I will teach you and demonstrate how different media responds on several paper surfaces for different subjects so when you have a go (with the papers of your choice you'll bring with you), you too will be able to enjoy the way your ideas are quickly and easily translated.
The approach is a loose, impressionistic and expressive use of media for landscape and seascape painting subjects. You can bring along to the workshops references from locationas that personally inspire you, which you have always wanted to paint and create colourful and personal paintings of such places.
Exciting, easy to follow and enriching painting techniques is what this workshop is all about. The various painting and drawing skills learned during the entire workshop will give you the confidence to move forward with your own artistic development in leaps and bounds - both during the workshop and in the future too.
With regular demonstrations, group and one to one tuition throughout the day you will learn A LOT! I will show you how to work quickly creating several paintings at the same time using clean and contrasting colour mixing to create exciting impressionistic effects...and so much more.
If you have ever wanted to 'let go' as an artist, go with the flow, see what happens and work with the exciting marks you make, this workshop is for you!
Sorry, but this workshop is not suitable for pure beginners or for artists who see this as a refresher course as the techniques taught may well be too advanced. If in doubt, please do get in touch and we can discuss if the course is suitable for you. I want you to get the best out of the day and from yourself too.
Early booking IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as places are limited to just 12 students only!

Overview
There is no dictate with what to bring to work with during the workshops - artists choose for themselves. If you are struggling with a particular media to get the best from it - bring it.
If you want to further advance your creative skills with a favourite media, bring that too.
Group demonstrations and one to one tuition will be given throughout the day, showing how to simplify landscape and seascape subjects in quick, effective and direct ways with exciting results.
You will learn LOTS of creative skills with all sorts of creative tools and media during the workshops - some things you may have, some you may not.
Partake and create in a fun learning environment with fellow artists, in a very mindful way.
